Manchester United will pocket a significant bonus after Real Madrid completed the long-awaited €50 million (£42m/$57m) signing of Alvaro Carreras.

Real Madrid have signed Spanish defender Alvaro Carreras from Benfica. The 22-year-old left-back has joined the Spanish club in a deal worth €50m (£43m) and has signed a six-year contract. Carreras was part of Real Madrid's youth set-up from 2017 to 2020 before joining Manchester United.

The Spain youth international has spent time at Manchester United, Preston North End, Grenada and Benfica since he was last at Madrid.
