Liverpool parade attacker Paul Doyle shouted "move" and swore in his car as he ploughed into a crowd at the Liverpool victory parade. Doyle hit more than 100 people in the space of two minutes on 26 May and was only stopped after a bystander managed to get inside the automatic vehicle and forced its gear selector into 'park' mode.
The altercation resulted in a section 20 assault, accompanied by a fine, handed down at Exeter Magistrates’ Court. He was also convicted of a military offence for violence to a superior officer of which no other details emerged, with his past convictions for serious violence coming between the ages of 18 and 22.
CCTV footage has been released which shows Paul Doyle, 54, driving his car into crowds of people at Liverpool's Premier League victory parade.
The man whose instinctive act stopped the car that injured 134 fans at the Liverpool FC victory parade has insisted he was "not a hero".
The man once known as a 'role model father' with a 'heart of gold' has been sentenced to 21 years in prison after deliberately mowing into a helpless crowd in a fit of rage
