Superman has hit and it’s amazing. James Gunn had a lot riding on this film, and it’s paid off. This is perfect Superman, a movie that really brings the Man of Steel’s mythos to life in the best possible way.

While Superman is taking his lumps throughout the superhero movie, The Green Lantern, played wonderfully by Nathan Fillion, walks through disasters and battles with nary a scratch. He is unflappable and seemingly untouchable by any of the many enemies he faces throughout the movie. He’s even cocky about it.
At this point, Superman and Ultraman duke it out. It’s revealed that he’s a clone of Superman, created by Lex to be the “most powerful being on Earth” and controlled with an expansive, brutal moveset. Of course, Superman wins… but at what cost?
Superman defeats Ultraman and saves Metropolis from the emerging black hole. Superman and Krypto watch Earth in the mid-credit scene. They look forward to protecting Earth rather than rule it. In the end, Superman throws Ultraman into the black hole. However, it was never made clear whether he survived or not.
