YouTube is launching a new test in the U.S. they’re using AI to estimate a user’s age—no longer just relying on birthdays signed in the profile.

The Australian government has announced YouTube will be required to ensure account holders are at least 16 years old starting in December.

Australia said on Wednesday it will add YouTube to sites covered by its world-first ban on social media for teenagers, reversing an earlier decision to exempt the Alphabet-owned video-sharing site and potentially setting up a legal challenge.

YouTube is the latest website to be banned in Australia for kids and teens under the age of 18.
