Road update. The road between Birdsville and the intersection of the Windorah road and the Birdsville track has just opened to high clearance 4WD vehicles! This means all routes into Birdsville are accessible in high clearance 4WD vehicles. This video shows the last crossing into town, it’s nice and low and easily crossed. We took a drive yesterday out onto the eastern road that runs between Windorah and Birdsville. This little clip shows current road conditions as well as the lush green growth from the areas that were flooded. It’s dried up so much in the last few days! We are looking forward to you all experiencing this for yourselves and like always travel safe, keep the speed down and drive to the conditions! The 2019 tourist season starts NOW !
