Flåm Railway - Norway Railway construction began in the 1920s and the railway finally opened in 1940. Flåm Railway is one of the world’s steepest train rides built on normal tracks, with nearly 80% of the track running through a rise of 55%. The 20 km long train ride takes you from the high mountains and down to the fjord.
