Feb. 3 - Saint Blaise was a 4th century physician, bishop of Sebastea (modern-day Turkey), and martyr who is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. His intercession is particularly sought against throat and ENT illnesses. He is commonly depicted holding a pair of crossed candles; in the depiction shown here, a mother implored St. Blaise for intercession on behalf of her young son who was choking on a fish bone, and the child was miraculously cured.
