My approach to new goats is simple. I focus first on acclimatization. Goats coming from a different location face a new climate, new feed, and new disease exposure. I isolate them for about two weeks to help them adapt and to protect my existing flock. During this time, I provide clean water, mineral licks, and light feed similar to what they were used to before slowly introducing local feeds.
