ON THIS DAY IN 1979: West Indies needed 3 off the last ball to win the second ODI of the Benson & Hedges World Series Cup. The England skipper Mike Brearly placed all his fielders on the boundary ropes. Even the wicket-keeper, David Bairstow (Jonny Bairstow's father) was asked to stand back at the ropes.
