CRASHED / On November 4th, at about 17:13 local time, a UPS Airlines MD-11F (N259UP) bound for Honolulu, flight #5X2976 crashed on take-off from Louisville International Airport (SDF). The aircraft seems to have suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure just prior to becoming airborne from runway 17R. Three crew members were on-board, all have died. Several videos show that the number 1 (left) engine separated from the wing during departure and came to rest on airport ground near the runway. N2
