✨Berceuse is the opening movement of Gabriel Fauré’s Dolly Suite, Op. 56, a charming set of four-hand piano pieces composed between 1893 and 1896. The suite was written for Hélène Bardac, affectionately nicknamed “Dolly,” the young daughter of Fauré’s close companion Emma Bardac. Each movement was inspired by moments from Dolly’s childhood, and Berceuse was composed to celebrate her first birthday.
